Safe Mobility for Life has updated our Golf Carts: Tips on How to Use Transportation Options in Florida brochure to address recent law changes, including:

  • Drivers must now be at least 15 years old with a learner’s permit or 16 years old with a driver’s license. Additionally, anyone 18 or older must possess a valid government-issued photo ID to drive a golf cart.

Tips included are:

  • Never drive over 20 mph.
  • Keep off sidewalks, bike paths, and shared-use paths unless signs are posted that it is allowed.
  • Only cross state roads at specific marked crossings.
  • Drive only during the daytime unless your community allows for other times and your golf cart is equipped correctly.
